*H M W Charity Auction Report Of Earnings*
03/13/02

To date we have received $11,207.00 from the Stallion Services donated to the Jared Murry Charity Auction at HorsesMidwest.com, and $3,131.00 from the other donated equine items & services. Our goal is to raise $20,000.

*We have 35 Outstanding Stallion Services still available at 50% off their normal breeding fee! Please visit the Charity Auction & click on Closed Items to view them. *All of the listings that "Do Not" have a reserve bid "Met" are available.

Jared's family has installed a much needed elevator to assist Jared recently. The funds raised by this auction have greatly helped to offset the high cost of the elevator.

Jared & his family are extremely thankful to all who have helped support the auction! Jared has come a long way in the past year and will continue to work towards leading an independant, fulfilled life.

A Message from Jared:

Dear HMW family and friends: > I'd like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone who participated in any way in the Jared Murry Charity Stallion Service Auction. The generosity of the donators, the purchasers, the sponsor, and the host has touched our lives deeply. It was fun to watch the progress of the auction and the bidding, and to appreciate the creativity of the packages offered. What a welcome distraction at a time when my activity level is limited by this injury. The purchase and installation of the elevator at our family home has provided many opportunities for me as well as a safety net for my future. I am currently still a resident of Courage Center in the Twin Cities. At present, it is my hope to move to a handicapped-accessible apartment in the Bloomington area and to return to school. This has been a recent change in plans. I am interested in investigating careers in aircraft dispatch and air traffic control. These two fields are closely related to my dream of commercial aviation. I am a pilot with private, commercial, instrument, single, and multiengine ratings. I miss the flying. I have discovered that, because of the higher level of my injury, I will require a fair amount of support and assistance to attain any independence in living in the community. There are few openings in qualified living facilities and it takes a lot of cooperation and coordination to make it all work out. If, for some reason, such a living situation would fall through, a back-up plan needs to be in place. The installation of the elevator at home has provided me with a permanent living space back-up plan as well as a refuge to return to where I can spend extended time with family and friends. I was home to try out the elevator on March 12 and it worked wonderfully. I had forgotten how much I missed the house and it was great to be able to get around in almost all of it. It is my understanding that I may have an opportunity to meet many of you at the Minnesota Horse Expo in April. My mom is working at the Hillview Farms booth in the cattle barn and Pat Bores and Kristy Enloe will be with the HMW booth. I'd like to get to both places and to meet and personally thank as many of you as possible. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness, hard work, and the support for my future.
