This Call’s For You

EquineTeleseminar.net is the brainchild of Patricia Reszetylo. It’s an innovative site that takes a technology used extensively by some of the top internet marketers – using a teleconference to reach clients and prospects – and in a brilliant, decisive move, applies it to the equine industry.

“I wanted to do three things,” says Patricia. “I wanted to learn from some of MY favorite clinicians; I wanted to share this experience, and I wanted to give clinicians a new medium to use to reach both their current client base as well as new prospects.”

Teleconferences are not a new technology – they have been held for years. However, within the equine industry, they are generally held only as a way to facilitate a press conference. Patricia saw an opportunity to facilitate learning in the equine industry after she attended a few teleseminars put on by internet marketers.

“I saw something that for the most part, was ignored,” she says. “I saw an opportunity; I ran some experiments, and it seemed viable, so I started talking to clinicians, and I got a really good response. I set up my website and organized it in what seemed a logical fashion. I haven’t met many people who aren’t interested in learning, or clinicians who aren’t interested in getting closer to their clients.”

Especially now with the outrageous price of gasoline, attending a teleseminar is a great idea, as you get to learn more about your favorite clinician, but don’t have to worry about the hazards that come with travel. You can recline in your favorite easy chair, sip on your favorite hot – or cold – drink; put the kids to bed or wash the supper dishes. You don’t have to worry about getting hotel rooms, gas prices, or the safety of your horse.

Most of the teleseminars Patricia puts on right now are free to both clinician and listener, outside of the regular long distance charges from the phone company, and their time. She records each session, transcribes them, and makes those available to participants and other interested parties for a small fee – clinicians get their files free.

“I also help clinicians who are interested in leveraging their teleseminar in finding ways to use those files,” Patricia Reszetylo says. “There are many ways to use those files, in an on-going, leveraged manner, and I can help you find what is going to work for you.”

One mistake that Patricia sees many clinicians, as well as other equine businesses committing over and over is under-use of mailing lists. “I’m on the email list of one particular equestrian,” she says, “An Olympic Gold-medal equestrian – and in the past four months, I’ve only gotten one email from her. This lady is leaving tons on money on the table; she has no idea how much money her list is capable of producing. This is the sort of thing I’d like to see change for clinicians – the concept that emailing their list is taboo. You have to market to people more than just one time, and hope it sticks – you need to have regular contact with them. People don’t mind getting emails from lists they’ve opted to join, even if it’s just all marketing. They want to think they are important enough to be marketed to. Besides, you’ve spent considerable time and money collecting that list, so why not utilize it?”

Holding teleseminars can start to change that, though. When a clinician holds teleseminars, whether for just her own list, or marketed to the general equine market, it can create a much greater income for that clinician – especially if it’s done right.

“Info-products are great to market in this manner,” says Patricia. “If you have an ebook, a regular book, a home-study course, or you are just filling workshops and clinics, this is a wonderful marketing medium. People listen to you for an hour or ninety minutes, and they are inspired to whip out that credit card. Especially if you have a digital product, because then they have it instantly.”

What if a clinician doesn’t have a digital product? “Not to worry,” says Patricia. “There are ways to get –or make one – almost instantly these days, and I can assist in that as well.” From converting an existing book to a digital product, to converting videos to DVDs, to creating completely new products, there are many, many ways to get that digital product to satisfy a client’s need for instant gratification. “We live in an “I-want-it-yesterday” society,” says Patricia. “The sooner you can get your product in your customer’s hands, the happier they are.”

A teleseminar is also a fabulous way to fill a seminar, workshop or other event. Instead of hoping your marketing will stick, you can immediately answer questions, explain the benefits of what you are teaching, and motivate people to attend. Internet marketers do it all the time – why not equestrians?
