Hart To Hart Stables By Maureen Jenner
Now, with the addition of their exciting young stallion Powerful Charm LCC, Wyatt and Christine have launched into the breeding industry with great success, too!
In the fall of 2003, in a partnership with the Shields family, Wyatt and Christine DeHart purchased the breathtaking young bay stallion Powerful Charm LCC. He is by WC sire WGC Santana’s Charm, the first stallion to win the amateur five-gaited title, and who today is siring world’s champions in all divisions.
His grandsire, WGC Sultan’s Santana, was the first million dollar Saddlebred ever sold, and the first stallion to follow his sire, Supreme Sultan, as the number one sire in America. His dam is the beautiful black mare, Powers Divine, by the fine harness RWGC CH Kourageous Kalu, sire of WGC CH Captive Spirit.
For Powerful Charm’s first breeding season in 2004, he bred 32 mares, natural cover, and for the 2005 breeding season, this outstanding stallion bred 47 mares. Attesting to his potential as a successful young breeding stallion, Powerful Charm’s foal crop is truly exceptional; he is passing on to his progeny his impeccable beauty, natural head carriage and refinement, tons of expression, talent, and gameness. All of his get appear to be stamped with all of his winning qualities and traits.
He definitely made his mark this year at the Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show, when his 2005 weanling, My Charming Christina, won the ASR Open Kentucky Futurity Weanling class. The weanling futurity seemed somewhat different this past year! Wyatt and his son, Richmond, made the bold move of turning their brief time in the ring into a spotlight performance.
When Wyatt and Wyatt and Christine DeHart. Hart To Hart Stables broodmares. 52 Saddle & Bridle Richmond came into the ring wearing black suits, ties, and rakish straw hats, they resembled the old 1930s John Belushi/Dan Aykroyd group, The Blues Brothers, and brought the house down with the filly they presented, My Charming Christina. There was no way they could fail to standout!
Their filly, sired by Powerful Charm LCC and out of Attache’s Grisabella, an Attaché daughter, did her part. She towered over the rest of the class with her maturity, elegance, beauty and poise. Their choreographed performance grabbed the crowd like never before … not just for My Charming Christina, but also for the “boys” who handled her.
It is evident that standing Powerful Charm LCC has created an exciting new venture for both Wyatt and Christine DeHart in the breeding industry. Hart to Hart Stables, in partnership with the Shields family, own an elite selection of well-bred mares by well-known sires; such as CH Will Shriver, Sultan’s Starmaker, Attaché, Worthy Prodigy, I’m A New Yorker, Periaptor, Champagne Fizz, War Image, Hayfield’s Last Guy, Roseridge Heir, Sky Watch and Catalyst. One of their most valuable mares and a proven producer, Crown Point’s Chardonnay, is a full sister to George Amos, by Catalyst and out of Santana’s Sonata, and is the dam of the stakes winners The Downtown Strutter and Attaché’s Crown Royal.
She has three upand- coming new show stars in the making: Attache’s Ginuwine, Captivating Charm and Shield My Hart. Captivating Charm is the remarkable twoyear- old stallion being prepared for this year’s five-gaited division; he is another great star in the making as a result of their outstanding breeding program.

Hart to Hart Stables is currently training 32 horses, but standing Powerful Charm LCC at their stable has developed an additional passion for both Wyatt and Christine. It is an exciting new venture for them in the breeding world … the future of the American Saddlebred breeding industry has long been a topic of discussion in the industry as those individuals interested in breeding top show horses struggle to maintain expenses and make a profit. Not to mention the sheer hard work required to manage breeding, foaling and broodmare care.
Christine handles all of the duties as breeding manager, keeping meticulous records, while keeping a very close watch on all of the mares.
Powerful Charm LCC can be seen grazing the pastures of Hart to Hart Stables along with his mares and their foals. During the previous breeding seasons, Powerful Charm LCC has bred all of his mares live cover, either within the pasture or by natural in hand private service. However, this year he will be collected as well, and they have had great success getting problem mares in foal. Hart to Hart Stables, with the help of their promising young stallion Powerful Charm LCC, are committed to not only training and showing top American Saddlebreds, but to breeding and raising them as well! With numerous paddocks and foaling stalls in their backyard, equipped with video surveillance, foal watch keeps their entire family busy day and night! Captivating Charm.
