MN State Finals High School Rodeo

The Minnesota State Finals High School Rodeo is coming to Hugo, MN on June 21st, 22nd and 23rd! The rodeo will feature 11 events including: Bareback, Calf Roping, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc, Goat Tying, Bull-Dogging (Steer Wrestling), Breakaway, Pole Bending, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, and Boys and Girls Cutting. This is statewide rodeo that will determine State Champions in each event and qualifiers of the 2002 National High School Finals Rodeo in July which will be held in Farmington, New Mexico. Minnesota High School Rodeo is funded by sponsorships and donations. One of our major fundraisers is our raffle ticket sales. This year, we are once again having our annual Saddle Raffle where you can win a choice of a saddle OR $500 cash. We have two saddles to choose from: a Billy Cook roping saddle or a Billy Cook barrel saddle. Tickets will be available at all MN High School Rodeos and functions including the State Finals.
About The National High School Rodeo Association
The National High School Rodeo Association is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to the development of sportsmanship, horsemanship, and character in the youth of our countries. Created by Texas educator and rodeo contestant Claude Mullins, the NHSRA held its first finals in Halletsville, Texas, August 25-27, 1949. One of the fastest growing youth organizations in the nation, the NHSRA has a annual membership of over 13,000 students from 38 U.S. States, and four Canadian Provinces.
The Sport of Rodeo
The National High School Rodeo Association was created to give high school students the opportunity to participate and compete in this unique and challenging sport. Although not recognized by high school athletics, the NHSRA offers a rodeo program that sets High School Rodeo apart from other varsity sports.
